I am interested in applying for a position of writer or journalist, preferably for a non-governmental organization. I hold a master's degree in English Literature, speak French, English, Dutch, Chinese, German, Indonesian and Spanish, and have extensive experience as investigative journalist and co-editor for both English language and human rights magazines. I am currently employed as Representative and Advisor of Marketing of a leading Indonesian travel agency. My job duties include: * maintaining the quality standard of all Smailing Tour products (transportation, tour itineraries, guides, customer service) and internal communication; * inspecting the quality of our partners' products and services (restaurants, Indonesian tour operators, hotels, spas, parks, entertainment providers) and reporting directly to the Director of Marketing; * writing and publishing our 'Best of Bali Activities' brochures; * organizing and leading inspection tours of delegations from potential new partners (foreign tour operators looking to enter the Indonesian market); * producing itinerary proposals for trips and special packages throughout the Indonesian archipelago for upcoming groups and VIP guests from Jakarta and abroad. Our team is comprised of colleagues from Java, Sumatra, Bali, Sulawesi, Flores, Sumba, The Netherlands and Spain.These people have all helped me understand the cultural essentials of Indonesian society, and taught me how to work together within a multi-ethnic framework. After a year in the travel industry I feel it is time for a new challenge, and return to the honing of my craft as a writer for a socially responsible organization.
